About Science In The City

Many people consider science education a gateway to economic and social prosperity. As the US economy changes, science careers are a critical resource for national success and international prosperity.

However, students in urban communities are often left out of this economic pipeline. Urban science teaching is in dire need of excellent teaching, trend setting programming, and a growth of intellectual understanding. Can we improve science teaching in urban schools? What works in urban schools? Can we prove what works and can we show the world how to use successful practices? Science in the city is an initiative dedicated to answering these questions and bringing better science to urban schools.

Join us in our efforts to bring Science in the City!
